(221) Error Opening Database. Program Cannot Continue.

221 error

Note: Check prior years for other error messages.

1. dbrepair

a. Go to Run and type in C:\utsXX\dbrepair c (where xx is the appropriate year)

b. When finished try opening program.  If error is still displaying, go to step 2.

2. Repair program through Control Panel.

a. Select TaxWise 20XX and choose the support link.  This will run a full repair.

b. When finished try opening program.  If error is still displaying go to step 3.

3. Check ODBC

a. Go to Control Panel>Administrative Tool>Data Sources (ODBC)>Choose TaxWise 2010.

b. Make sure path is pointing to the correct location (where program is installed)

c. If the path s correct, call TW Support for assistance.

d. If path is incorrect, change path to correct location then opening program.  If error is still

displaying, call TW Support for assistance.  If the customer’s system is a 64 bit, System DNS

tab will be blank.  To check ODBC – My Computer>SysWOW64>double-click odbcad32.

Choose System DNS tab>Select TaxWise 2010.  Make sure path is pointing to the correc

tlocation.  If error is received regarding missing drivers, reinstall program from UTS10 folder

> TWTECH (new instance) – If the path is correct, call TW Support for assistance.  If the path

is incorrect, change path to correct location then try opening program.  If error is still

displaying, call TW Support for assistance.

4. If the above steps do not resolve this issue, call TW Support
